Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation is a development finance institution that lends to micro, small and medium enterprises and co-operatives, provides workspace and runs capacity building and training. It was formed in 1983 by an Act of Parliament, began operating in April 1984 as the Small Enterprises Development Corporation, and took its present name in February 2014. It is a parastatal under the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, with branches in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru, Masvingo, Bindura and Lupane.
