AFC Commercial Bank Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act and registered as a commercial bank under the Banking Act, lending mainly to agriculture alongside retail banking, treasury services, bill discounting and bridging finance. It traces its line to the Land and Agricultural Bank of 1924, through the Agricultural Finance Corporation established in 1971 and the Agricultural Bank of Zimbabwe, trading as Agribank, from 2000. It is one of the four subsidiaries of the AFC Holdings group.

CBZ Bank Limited is a registered commercial bank and the wholly owned flagship subsidiary of the listed group CBZ Holdings, serving personal and corporate customers. It opened in 1980 as the Bank of Credit and Commerce Zimbabwe, a joint venture between the government and BCCI Holdings, became Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe when the government took the whole shareholding in 1991, and listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange on 29 June 1998. EmpowerBank Limited is a registered deposit-taking micro bank under the Microfinance Act and is regulated by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. It was formed to serve financially excluded young people and falls under the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training. It lends to youth-led business and agriculture projects and offers asset finance, guarantees and savings accounts in urban, peri-urban and rural parts of the country.
FBC Bank Limited is a commercial bank within FBC Holdings Limited, an investment holding company listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. The group's other subsidiaries cover mortgage finance, short-term insurance, reinsurance, securities trading, property and microfinance, and its principal activities are in Zimbabwe.
First Capital Bank Limited is a commercial bank listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange and majority owned by FMBcapital Holdings plc of Mauritius, which is listed on the Malawi Stock Exchange. It opened in 1912 as Barclays Bank in Zimbabwe and took its present name in 2017, when Barclays Bank plc sold its majority stake after 104 years. It runs 32 branches and service centres in the country's larger cities and towns.

InnBucks MicroBank Limited is a registered deposit-taking microfinance bank and a member of the Deposit Protection Scheme. It offers retail and business banking, personal and business loans, international remittances, treasury and structured finance, and the InnBucks wallet reached by dialling *569# or through its app. Salaries paid into the wallet can be drawn as cash at Simbisa outlets, and it has agents around the country.
Mukuru Financial Services Zimbabwe is a registered deposit-taking microfinance institution and a member of the Deposit Protection Scheme. It offers money transfers to more than 60 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States, the Mukuru wallet for local and international transactions, bill payments and funeral cover. Customers are served at its branches and booths and through its app and website.
National Building Society Limited is a registered building society set up to add to the national housing stock and to support the government's financial inclusion programme. It was created by the National Social Security Authority through investment from the National Pensions Scheme fund and the Workers Compensation Insurance Fund, and NSSA remains its shareholder. The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation is a development finance institution that lends to micro, small and medium enterprises and co-operatives, provides workspace and runs capacity building and training. It was formed in 1983 by an Act of Parliament, began operating in April 1984 as the Small Enterprises Development Corporation, and took its present name in February 2014. It is a parastatal under the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, with branches in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru, Masvingo, Bindura and Lupane.
Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe Limited is a registered commercial bank and a member of the Standard Bank Group, which is headquartered in Johannesburg. It came into being in November 1992, when Standard Bank acquired the ANZ Grindlays Bank operations in eight African countries including Zimbabwe and renamed them Stanbic. Standard Bank had opened its first branch in Salisbury on 20 July 1892.
Success Microfinance Bank Limited, trading as SuccessBank, is a deposit-taking microfinance institution offering savings, term investments, loans and digital banking. It is the successor to Collarhedge Finance, which was licensed as a credit-only microfinance institution in 2011 and had passed 36,000 loans by early 2015. ZB Bank Limited is the commercial banking arm of ZB Financial Holdings Limited, a Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed group whose other units cover insurance, reinsurance, investments, property and wealth management. The business was the Netherlands Bank of Rhodesia, renamed Rhodesia Banking Corporation in 1972 and Rhobank in 1979, then Zimbabwe Banking Corporation in 1981 after the government bought the majority shareholding, with the holding company formed in 1989. The group adopted the ZB name on 30 October 2006, to coincide with its merger with the former Intermarket Holdings units.
